2PM

Summary: 2PM debuted with their song 10 Points Out of 10 on September 4, 2008.  The group originally consisted of seven members, but after a controversy, Park JaeBum departed from the group (and country) in 2009 and has now returned to Korea as a solo singer.  Instead of going for the “pretty boy” look that was popular during the time, JYP Entertainment instead decided to go for a more manly image, earning the 2PM boys the titles of “짐승돌,” or “Beast-dols”/“Beast Idols” in English.  The group now consists of leader Taekyeon, Nichkhun, Junsu, WooYoung, JunHo, and ChanSung.  They’ve faced a lot of success, and are currently working in Japan. As I mentioned with 2AM, I really wasn’t into Beast idols when they first debuted.  I was a bit upset because I was getting really into them finally and… JaeBum leaves. However, I immediately fell for the Thai cutie known as Nichkhun.  Velexa loved Taekyeon.  Mind you, this was back in 2009. These days, we both love all the members, and every so often when I feel like Nichkhun is too popular, I happily give love to the less represented members such as Junsu and JunHo. We easily grew to love the (Jun)HoButt, the snarky maknae, and Junsu’s sexy vocals.  I think it helped Wild Bunny was still playing on television while we were there.  You can now find JaeBum’s information here.  We fell in love with them most when we got to see them at Inkigayo (Popular Song) live.  WooYoung noticed Velexa because of her hair, and told the other three present members.  All we seem to remember from their passing us is Nichkhun’s arm.  However, we also enjoyed watching Taekyeon off-screen (he’s adorable), as well as the “live WooKhun” we got to see since WooYoung’s mic wasn’t working and Nichkhun let him use his.

Junsu

Nichkhun

Birth Name: Nichkhun Buck Horvejkul (Ni-chi-koon hon-weh-kun)
Birth Date: June 24, 1988
Birth Place: Rancho Cucamonga, California
Family: Older brother, two younger sisters, parents
Facts:

• Moved to Thailand at age two, then at age twelve he studied abroad in New Zealand for a year and a half before returning to California to finish schooling
• He was a badminton coach before he was scouted by Park Jin Young (JYP) at the Los Angeles Korean Music Festival
• He feels coolest when he’s playing piano
• Enjoys wintertime because he claims he can be more fashionable than in the summer
• Likes to ride on airplanes
• He got into a school that costs $9,000 in tuition each year and only accepted 500-700 students

Taekyeon

• Can speak fluent English and is learning Japanese
• He was encouraged to audition by his older sister, he was originally trying to become a model, the judges suggested he try singing and dancing
• He was in Superstar Survival with JunHo and ChanSung, but was the first to be eliminated
• He enjoys cooking, wakeboarding, and skiing
• He is close with SNSD’s Yoona and Jessica
• Can beatbox
• Is ideal woman is a girl who can do her own things well

WooYoung

Birth Date: April 30, 1989
Birth Place: Pusan, South Korea

• His ideal woman is someone who comes to his heart immediately
• He enjoys listening to music and surfing the internet
• He won first place against 5,000 other contestants during auditions
• Enjoys cleaning, it’s earned him the nickname of 2PM’s Mommy

JunHo

Birth Name: Lee JunHo
Birth Date: January 25, 1990
Birth Place: Ilsan, South Korea
Family: Older sister, parents
Facts:

• He got into JYP Entertainment through a show called Superstar Survivor. Originally fans were angered because he seemed cocky.
• Enjoys looking at dance videos, reading fashion magazines, and  listening to music
• Is often called “Mini-Rain” because he resembles Bi Rain.
• Is a big SNSD fan
• Will pass out anywhere when he gets drunk

ChanSung

Birth Name: Hwang ChanSung
Birth Date: February 11, 1990
Birth Place: Seoul, South Korea
Family: Older brother, parents
Facts:

• Debuted as an actor before debuting as a singer
• Trained in martial arts, and is in high levels in both Tae Kwon Do and Kumdo
• Hobbies are listening to music, gaming, and working out
• Has a cat named Jeonggam
• He can eat 40 servings of Shabu-Shabu
• Has the most bizarre sleeping habits including sleep walking, sleep eating, sleeping tilted, and preferring to sleep on the floor
• He and Taekyeon can eat up to 25 servings of food.
